Compound Bow

Project Overview

This was a fun project that combined my interest in archery with 3D art. It was great to work on a weapon that wasn’t the typical gun—modeling the compound bow from scratch offered a unique challenge in mechanical detail and form. Model was created in 3DS Max, textures done in Substance Painter.

Breakdown

As expected, the intricate cutouts and complex geometry of the bow presented some challenges. I relied heavily on line drawings to create precise boolean shapes, which I then refined using the cut tool to ensure clean topology. After the base model was complete, I added accessories like sights, stabilizers, and a quiver to bring the design to life.
