Kodak Brownie Hawkeye Camera

Project Overview

I found this camera while antique shopping and was drawn to its unique design and texture variety. The camera’s distinct mix of materials, from aged plastic to worn metal and glass, offered a great opportunity to experiment with realistic texturing in Substance Painter. Modeled in 3DS Max, I focused on clean topology and material accuracy.

Breakdown

Below are some of the reference images I gathered for the camera. The renders shown here reflect a clean version of the model, but I later enhanced it with additional dust, dirt, and grime to better capture its vintage character.
