Quixel x SCADpro

Project Overview

Role - Scanning & 3D Artist
SCADpro is a collaborative design studio that brings together students and industry leaders to develop innovative, real-world solutions. I worked alongside a multidisciplinary team to help test and explore solutions to challenges presented by Quixel. Our group was divided into three teams—drone scanning, handheld scanning, and my team, which focused on 2D scanning techniques.

Breakdown

As part of the 2D scanning team, our focus was on capturing plants and fabric materials. With guidance from Quixel, we built a custom 2D scanner that allowed us to efficiently capture high-quality textures. These textures were then brought into Maya, where we used soft selection to shape individual leaves and stems. To enhance realism and variation, we created multiple versions of each plant asset.
